Seats in a simple posture with crossed legs with a straight spine.
Mudra: The hands can be in any comfortable position ( Gyan Mudra, folded in the lap etc. ). You can also place them on top of each other ( first left, then right ) on the heart center or put them in prayer position in front of the chest.
Focus: Close your eyes and concentrate on the point between the eyebrows

Pickup your mantra, There are several in sanskirt language specially designed for the chanting.
Or pickup one word that means lot to you e.g. Peace, I love myself or any short term

Chant Gyour mantra 5 – 31 minutes. it can also be recited monotonously without music. Try to sing the whole mantra with one breath.
